Steel Project Awarded for Gender Equality

The award ceremony dedicated to companies distinguished for their initiatives and policies in support of gender equality was held in the Sala Capraia of the Chamber of Commerce of Maremma and Tirreno in Livorno. Among the organisations recognised in the 2025 edition is Steel Project Engineering, selected for its concrete and structured commitment to promoting equal opportunities within the company.
Steel Project Engineering was acknowledged for the project undertaken in recent years, which enabled the company to achieve a real numerical balance between male and female employees – including in positions of greater responsibility. This achievement is accompanied by a targeted redesign of the “Careers” section, conceived to make communication more inclusive and capable of speaking directly to female talent interested in pursuing an engineering career. An initiative that combines vision, attention to language and concrete commitment to fostering an open and equitable working environment.

The award was received by Eng. Elisa Severi, Head of the Integrated Management System for Quality–Environment–Safety and Gender Equality, and Eng. Leonardo Balocchi, partner of the firm.

The event was enriched by the travelling exhibition “Because the Day Against Violence on Women Is Every Day”, featuring the powerful artworks of Livorno-based artist Fabio Leonardi. These pieces, some of which are presented here, offer meaningful and thought-provoking reflections on a socially sensitive and deeply important theme for the protection of women.Curated by the Prefecture of Livorno and Inail, in collaboration with the Province of Livorno, the Municipality of Livorno and the Provincial Gender Equality Officer, the exhibition—initially inaugurated on 25 November—accompanied the ceremony with a strong cultural and social message.

Several local media outlets reported on the event, highlighting the relevance of the themes addressed and the value of the awarded initiatives. Furthermore, an interview about Steel Project Engineering’s project will be broadcast on Telegranducato and TV9, helping disseminate the company’s experience and its contribution to the ongoing dialogue on gender equality in the workplace.

This important recognition is welcomed with pride and with the commitment to continue transforming principles and vision into concrete actions within the company.
