In relation to our news of 04/08/24 we must rectify incorrect information regarding the delivery of the works: due to a typo in the text, the operational date of the new Serchio Bridge was erroneously indicated as Summer 2025.
Completion of the works is contractually scheduled for October 2024.
We apologize for the mix-up and have also corrected the information in the previous post.
We share with you an interesting video from the Grand Paris Express company in which the work progress of the new Parco delle Esposizioni (PEX) station on line 17 is shown: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/grand-paris-express
In this project, Steel Project Engineering is developing the Executive Design of the ” Gare du Parc des Expositions” and the “Passerelle” which connects the areas adjacent to the existing railway to the new elevated station and the Exhibition Park.
The station is crossed by the viaduct on which trains circulate and whose structures are independent from those of the building. The station structure extends over a width of approximately 28 meters (overall) and a length of approximately 181 m (without expansion joints), on 4 levels. The pedestrian walkway instead develops on a complex plan with access ramps/lifts and a surface area of 1615 m2; given the particular structural slenderness of the walkway, the appropriate dynamic analyzes were carried out to calibrate the dynamic properties of the TMD and damper system and guarantee dynamic comfort in the walkway.

The contract for the construction of the New Railway Industrial Plant (NSIF) in Ticino has been awarded to CSC Costruzioni (WeBuild group), for an estimated total amount of works of approximately €300 million.
Steel Project Engineering has developed the technical part of the tender dossier relating to all the metal structures of the buildings and will take care of the executive project of the metal elevation structures.
Congratulations to CSC and the entire Steel Project design team, great job!
For further information on the subject of the tender, we refer you to this article shared a few days ago by the WeBuild LinkedIn profile: https://bit.ly/4awjjs2

Our Safety Coordination activity continues during the execution phase on the Lucca construction site, as part of the works for the construction of a new bridge over the Serchio river.
The intervention will offer an important alternative to traffic, alleviating the traffic usually present in the area; The new bridge over the Serchio will be operational by the end of 2024.
A few months ago there was an inspection of the construction site by the President of the Province Luca Menesini, who confirmed the importance of the construction respecting the scheduled timescales, as well as respecting all SAFETY standards.
We will continue to update you with photos of the construction progress until the works are completed.

In the newly published issue 40 of the Architettura in Acciaio magazine you will find an interesting article on our project for the construction of the Adige Bridge and the A22 motorway overpass, with photographs of the completed work and after the demolition of the existing bridges.
