Design and Verification of Plate Structural Elements According to Eurocode 3

The course will explore in depth the design and verification of plate structural elements according to Eurocode 3 – Part 1-5 (EN 1993-1-5), with a special focus on steel infrastructures and complex metal structures.

Topics will include strength and stability criteria, buckling and deformability checks, and the method of effective sections and reduced stresses, with practical examples and references to Italian standards (NTC 2018, CNR Guidelines).
