Steel Project accelerates its digital transformation
Steel Project Engineering takes a decisive step forward in its digital evolution with the installation of a new hyperconverged platform (HCI), a high-performance infrastructure that unifies virtualization, private cloud, cybersecurity and operational continuity within a single, scalable and highly reliable environment.
At the core of this upgrade is a new server designed to natively support Artificial Intelligence applications and models, a key element of the company’s technological strategy.
The platform introduces:
• two high-availability computing nodes
• high-performance hybrid SSD/HDD storage
• 10 GbE network for ultra-fast data transfers
• data replication, snapshots and high-availability systems
• centralized IT resource management
• native support for advanced AI applications
This new server represents a major improvement for all technical activities: rendering, FEM simulations, BIM modeling, complex processes and document management become significantly faster and smoother, reducing processing times and increasing workflow efficiency.
More importantly, the infrastructure is designed to host, run and optimize Artificial Intelligence models, predictive analytics and intelligent automations, becoming the technological foundation that will support Steel Project Engineering in developing AI-driven solutions for structural design and advanced engineering.
The platform also integrates advanced systems for security, operational resilience and immediate recovery, ensuring even safer and more continuous data management. The centralized environment guarantees constant availability of information and uniform control over all IT processes.
Steel Project continues to invest strongly in internal training to ensure skills remain updated and aligned with emerging technologies. The Manager of the Integrated Management System has attended several advanced courses on Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation, including a practical workshop organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Livorno on 11 November 2025.
The new infrastructure and the skills developed strengthen the company’s digital innovation strategy, based on advanced technologies, security, operational resilience and a concrete vision for integrating Artificial Intelligence into engineering and design services.
